Newsletter of the week - January 27, 2011

If you have any Epicure products on your grocery list this week, tomorrow or Saturday would be the time to order them!  I have a Girls Get-Together booked and will be placing an order for their group.

F.Y.I. If you place an order when I have a large order going in, it will reduce your shipping costs.  I really like my customers to only pay the 7% shipping on local orders (around Vancouver) vs. the $7 or more flat fee you would be charged on an on-line or small order.  I want to save you some money so I will always try to let you know when there is an order going in that you can tag onto and save.

With the Chinese New Year days away I thought I'd pick a theme to this week's newsletter...

Epicure Selections products can help bring Asian flavors to your kitchen with easy meal solutions!

I finally tested and thus fell in love with the Ultimate Asian Sauce Recipe.  I highly recommend trying it!  You can use the sauce for dipping or as a marinade for chicken, salmon, beef, tofu or pork.  It is also fantastic as a dressing for making an asian flavored coleslaw.  To make this sauce you will need Epicure's Red Pepper Jelly and the Asian Stir-fry Seasoning as well as a few other ingredients from your pantry.  (recipe link:  http://www.epicureselections.com/en/recipe/2262/ultimate-asian-sauce )

a)  Tonight I am going to make Crispy Baked Chicken...dip chicken breasts (I am going to cut them into pieces/ fingers) into the Ultimate Asian Sauce and then coat with panko. (Panko is Japanese breadcrumbs available at the grocery store) Bake at 400 degrees until cooked through and crust is golden.  Serve with steamed greens (broccoli or gai lan) and rice.

b)  Epicure's Ultimate Asian Glazed Pork Tenderloin: http://www.epicureselections.com/en/recipe/4173/epicures-ultimate-asian-glazed-pork-tenderloin

c)  Epicure's Ultimate Asian Noodle Bowl:  http://www.epicureselections.com/en/recipe/4172/epicures-ultimate-asian-noodle-bowl

d)  Epicure's Asian Hot and Sour Coleslaw:  http;//www.epicureselections.com/en/recipe/277/asian-hot-and-sour-coleslaw

You can find lots more on the Epicure website in their recipe database - there are hundreds of ideas!  I can also email you the recipes for Epicure's Linguine with Snow Peas and Zucchini, Warm Rice Salad, and Shrimp and Spinach Stir-fry...they all use the Ultimate Asian Sauce and are very simple to make.

My next most favorite Asian flavor is Teriyaki!  Everything tastes great grilled with teriyaki sauce on it.  Most often the choices in the grocery aisle are full of preservatives like MSG.  Here is a recipe to make your own healthier, homemade Teriyaki Grilling Sauce - make it ahead and keep in in the fridge for up to 2 weeks:  http://www.epicureselections.com/en/recipe/3334/epicures-teriyaki-grilling-sauce  You will need Epicure's Teriyaki and Asian Stir-fry Seasonings to make it.

And finally, I'm sharing a delicious recipe for Epicure's Malaysian Coconut Curry Soup - it is super easy to make!  http://www.epicureselections.com/en/recipe/272/malaysian-coconut-curry-soup  You can get the Chicken Bouillon, Madras Curry or Curry Dip Mix and Kaffir Lime Leaves all from Epicure.

Gung Hay Fat Choy!  (Happy New Year)
Have a great week and happy cooking!
Kris
